This installation is about embracing every moment of our lives. Whatever you are carrying with you -a scream of pure happiness, anger, or pain- I’m inviting you to let go. If you choose not to, that’s fine too. It will be dark, but you can always change your mind. With release comes clarity.
This is a non-traditional self-portrait interactive video installation. The user enters a dark room and the only way to read the message is to scream at it. The louder the scream, the brighter the message.
15 years ago, I learned my mother had Alzheimer’s. So much of my life changed, and it took me years to come to terms with it. All of those years can be condensed in a single moment when, surfing in the Icelandic ocean, a deep feeling of pure happiness pushed me to scream.
